Workshop – Disabled Aircraft Removal – REGISTER HERE

Theme: Disabled Aircraft Recovery and the Importance of Preparedness for Airports
Objective: To understand what it means to be prepared to manage a disabled aircraft and to reduce the runway downtime during an event
Description:   According to RESQTEC data, approximately 150 incidents per year occur with disabled aircraft across the world. These incidents cause runway and airport closures that, on average, take 17 hours to settle. When an incident occurs, it is already too late to begin thinking about aircraft recovery preparedness. Efficient disabled aircraft removal is a shared responsibility and requires communication, coordination, training, and equipment.
The goal of this workshop is to get an understanding of the skills and abilities required to manage an aircraft recovery event effectively and safely. Through a simulated scenario, the workshop will present some of the challenges in managing a disabled aircraft operation, as well as the best practices on the topic.
